Mt. Zion Recreational Complex
The Mt. Zion Recreational Complex located on campus features a panoramic view of Gogebic
Community College and the surrounding area. In addition to functioning as an on-campus
laboratory for GCC's nationally acclaimed Ski Area Management Program, Mt. Zion serves
downhill, cross-country, snowboard, and snowtubing enthusiasts. Open to the public,
Mt. Zion has a full complement of rental equipment. Students and guests are encouraged
to participate in various “learn to ski/snowboard” programs.

Mt. Zion offers something for everyone, with 10 slopes and trails featuring a 300-foot vertical drop and a power-tilled slope for a great downhill experience. Winter activities include a snow tubing park, cross-country ski trail, quality ski and snowboard rentals, and kids’ downhill and snowboard racing programs. Visitors can also enjoy a convenient snack bar, group rates, and a special perk for senior skiers and snowboarders ages 62 and older can ski free! In the warmer months, Mt. Zion transforms into a summer/fall disc golf course, making it a year-round destination for outdoor recreation.

Mt. Zion is operated by GCC's Ski Area Management program. GCC students carrying a minimum of six credit hours ski and snowboard FREE with their photo student ID card.
