Communications and Humanities Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to:
Critical Thinking and Information Competency
- Identify and investigate problems and develop creative, practical, and ethical solutions by evaluating information and using appropriate methods of reasoning.
- Locate, evaluate, and use information from relevant and diverse sources in an effective and ethical manner.
Community and Global Consciousness and Responsibility
- Exhibit awareness, appreciation, and value for the diversity of individuals in one's immediate environment as well as in the global community.
- Students will recognize their role as local, national, and global citizens.
Communication and Expression
- Develops and presents cogent, coherent and substantially error-free writing for communication to general and specialized audiences.
- Demonstrates effective interactive communication through discussion, i.e., by listening actively and responding constructively and through structured oral presentations to general and specialized audiences.
Quantitative and Technological Competence
- Converts relevant information into various mathematical forms to solve problems (e.g. equations, graphs, diagrams, tables, words).
- Presents accurate interpretations of quantitative information and draws appropriate conclusion related to political, economic, health-related or technological topics.
- Expresses quantitative evidence in support of the argument or purpose of the work.
- Applies tools, technologies and methods common to the field of study to selected questions or problems.
