May 13, 2020:  Gogebic Community College Updates

All GCC education and operations will continue through distance delivery and working remotely through Friday, May 15, 2020 per Michigan Executive Order.

Classes and labs will resume on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 in distance delivery formats.  This mode of instruction will continue through the end of the spring semester, Friday, May 8, 2020.  A quality education and student success remain to be the major focus for GCC.  Instructors will continue to be in contact with you throughout the remainder of the semester. Ironwood campus: WiFi is available throughout all main campus parking lots. Drive up with your device and log in at any time to access the internet.  Wifi network and password are listed on all doors.

Copper Country Center: Students and/or faculty can access the internet in the BACK parking lot behind the Copper Country Center. The service extends to approximately the 12th row out (depth) of the parking lot. 

The college is taking extra precautions to keep our facilities clean to help protect our faculty, staff, and students, along with our community from the potential effects of this virus.

COVID-19:  An outbreak of a respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus named "2019 Novel Coronavirus" or "COVID-19" is affecting a large number of countries around the world, including the United States. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring developments and updating information for the public.  


COVID-19 Symptoms:

There is an ongoing investigation to determine more about this outbreak. Information will be updated as it becomes available. As a precaution, please follow these recommended guidelines from the CDCMost importantly, if you are feeling ill, please seek medical care right away by calling ahead.

To prevent the spread of the virus and provide the most appropriate care to the communities we serve, Aspirus has established a call center for people concerned they might be infected with COVID-19. The dedicated line will be operational and staffed by live operators during the following hours:

  • 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday – Friday
  • 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday – Sunday
