Scholarship The term scholarship can be used to refer to the academic excellence that is seen in the members of Phi Theta Kappa. What we do: -Possess academic integrity -Promote the Honors Program at GCC -Apply for various scholarships |
Leadership Members of Phi Theta Kappa are leaders in their community. Some chapters of Phi Theta Kappa provide leadership development programs to build on the leadership potential of the future leaders of our society. Phi Theta Kappa encourages its members to lead and develop their leadership skills. What we do: -Read and keep score at the local quiz bowl -Implement awareness programs on campus -Lead the paper recycling program at GCC |
Service Phi Theta Kappa believes that members also should serve their community and society as a whole. Service opportunities are provided within the college (such as helping out at a dinner) and also on a wider spectrum (such as partnering with the American Cancer Society to promote cancer awareness). What we do: -Fundraise for community and national causes -Support the Range Suicide Prevention Network |
Fellowship Fellowship is simply being with others. Through Phi Theta Kappa, the members are encouraged to interact to share ideas, opinions, and to just have fun. The society encourages cooperation. The society also networks with fellow chapters regionally and throughout the United States. What we do: -Have weekly meetings -Meet with other chapters of PTK -Support other campus initiatives, programs, and organizations |
