College Workstudy
The Federal College Work-Study Program provides part-time, on-campus employment of up to 20 hours per week to students with financial need. Compensation generally is set at the minimum wage rate. Students typically work 7-8 hours per week on a schedule mutually agreeable to the student and supervisor. GCC employs many students in the offices, library, laboratories, student center, food service, maintenance, etc. Students may earn an average of $1,800 per year.
GCC also participates in the Michigan College Work Study Program. This program has the same eligibility requirement as the federal program with the added requirement of 12 month Michigan residency.
