How to Apply for a Federal Parent PLUS Loan
Step 1: Complete the Federal Parent PLUS Loan Request Form and return it to the GCC Financial Aid Office.
Step 2: Fill out the parent loan application (MPN) online.
- Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on your preferred lender. (If you choose Associated Bank, National City, U.S. Bank, Bank of America or Fifth Third Bank, click on Federal Stafford Loan.) If you choose a lender that is not part of this list, you need to contact them directly to find out how to submit your MPN.
- Follow the instructions on the lender’s website.
The lender choice must be the same lender that was submitted on the Federal Parent PLUS Loan Request Form.
Borrower benefits can be viewed on the lender’s individual website.
Repeat Borrowers – Complete Step 1 only. You do not need to fill out another parent loan application online or choose another lender if you have borrowed while the student was enrolled at GCC. The Financial Aid Office will reference your original MPN to process your current student loan request.
If your lender choice is Associated Bank, National City, U.S. Bank, Bank of America or Fifth Third Bank, please click on Federal Stafford Loan to fill out your student loan MPN and click on Federal PLUS Parent Loan if your parents will be filling out a PLUS MPN. If your lender choice is Wells Fargo click on this link to fill out your student and parent MPN’s.
