Dean of Student Services
Gogebic Community College seeks candidates for this full-time executive position. The Dean of Students provides leadership and direction for all Student Services programs and departments. In addition, the Dean of Students is responsible for a broad array of services that support the academic, social, and developmental lives of students. The Dean of Students must work closely with instructional programs for the complete development of students.
The Dean of Students is a member of the President's Cabinet. The Dean of Students has the following direct reports: an administrative assistant, the Transfer Coordinator, the ACES Center Secretary, Career Counselor, the Assistant Registrar/Instutional Research Officer, the Financial Aid Director, the Admissions Director, the Athletic Director, the Residential Hall Manager, TRiO Director, Student Life Coordinator, Off Campus Secretary, Off Camupus Student Services, and the Student Center Director.
Qualifications
The candidate will have a Master’s degree (Doctorate preferred) and five years experience in student services, including two years of supervisory capacity. Additionally, the candidate will have successful administrative experience; experience in using personal computers and basic software packages; excellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills; solid communication skills; the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects concurrently; ability to work effectively as a team member with an elected Board of Directors; and the ability and willingness to work beyond normal working hours.

Gogebic Community College is a fully accredited, full-service community college with a head count of 1,400. The Ironwood area offers a high quality of life in a rural setting. Located two hours from Duluth (MN), four hours from Minneapolis/St.Paul (MN), and four hours from Green Bay (WI), the college is in close proximity to Lake Superior, the Ottawa National Forest, and numerous other state parks and recreational areas.
