Gogebic Community College Foundation Hosts ‘Taste of Gogebic Range’

Gogebic Community College Foundation to Host 7th Annual Florida Pasty Picnic

The Gogebic Community College Foundation will be hosting the 7th Annual Pine-to-Palm Pasty Picnic at the Peridia Golf and Country Club in Bradenton, Florida on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This year our event will include an informational presentation titled, “From Sawgrass to Sugarcane: Cultural Stories of the Everglades” presented by Jessica R. Cattelino, Associate Professor of Anthropology, UCLA.  Jessica, originally from Saxon, WI., is in Florida on a research project and has agreed to share her research experiences with us!

This picnic provides an opportunity for friends and alumni of GCC to gather and celebrate the achievements, accomplishments and continued success of GCC while feasting on an upper peninsula specialty, the pasty.  Anyone who lives in Florida or will be visiting the area during that time is invited and encouraged to attend!

Tickets for the picnic are $25.00 each, or $40.00 per couple, with all proceeds from the event supporting the ‘Pine-to-Palm Scholarship’ at GCC.  To purchase tickets for the Palm-to-Pine Pasty Picnic, be placed on the mailing list for future events, or support the Foundation, please contact Kelly Marczak, GCC Foundation Director at (906) 932-4231, ext. 202 or email alumni@gogebic.edu.

No Gift Is Too Small

All contributions received from individuals, corporations, and foundations are welcomed and greatly appreciated. The Foundation is able to accept gifts of cash, personal property, and real property. Gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Michigan residents may also be eligible to receive a tax credit at the state level.

Leave A Legacy Without Affecting Your Current Assets

Consider a gift to the GCC Foundation. Together, we can support excellence in education. A clause in your will or trust is a simple way to arrange a significant gift in support of the mission of the College.

The GCC Foundation, established in 1977 as a non-profit, 501(c)(3), tax exempt organization, exists solely for the support and development of the College and its mission. It is the preferred channel for private gifts to the College.

The GCC Foundation Office is located in room 200 of the Rutger Erickson Academic Center on the campus of GCC. For more information, contact Kelly Marczak in the Foundation Office at 906-932-4231, Ext. 202.
