The ProgramGogebic Community College's Ski Area Management Program is one of the nation’s most comprehensive training programs for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the ski industry. Technical and academic study is combined with a practical internship which is conducted at major ski resorts throughout Colorado, Utah, Vermont, California and the Midwest. Students spend their freshman year and the first eight weeks of their sophomore year completing prerequisite courses. During this period, the Mt. Zion Ski Complex is utilized as a training laboratory. Mt. Zion is our college owned and operated ski area located on campus and is open to the public. The remainder of the sophomore year, students are in training at an internship site. The RequirementsAll Ski Area Management students are required to have a valid operator's permit (driver's license). The following are the required courses necessary to receive an Associate of Technology Degree in Ski Area Management:
Upon successful program completion and through appropriate course selection, students may opt to pursue a bachelor's degree in Ski Area Business Management through an articulated agreement with the Walker L.
