In accordance with State and Federal legislation, Gogebic Community College (GCC) herein publishes its on-campus and local jurisdiction crime occurrence statistics for the calendar year 2004. The crime categories reported are those required by federal law, specifically Section 485, paragraph (1), sub-paragraph (f), of the Federal Higher Education Act.

The above statistics were compiled based on the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program, and include on-campus incidents reported to the GCC Campus Security Coordinator and local (Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department and Ironwood Public Safety Department) and state law enforcement (Michigan State Police) agencies through the Uniform Crime Reporting System. Crimes reported under the Local Jurisdiction category reflect the data available at the time of the report as published on the Michigan State Police web-site (http://www.michigan.gov/msp). The 2006 Uniform Crime Report (UCR) is the most recent such data.
