Gogebic Community College’s Participation in AQIP
The Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) was undertaken as a method of college accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission in the year 2000. Gogebic Community College began its association with AQIP in September of that year.
As an AQIP participating institution, GCC is focused on increasing the college’s effectiveness by managing processes or how things are done. These processes effect educating students and meeting the needs of the community we serve. An assessment of all GCC’s processes has been conducted. The assessment has identified strengths and opportunities for improvement. Target areas for current improvement efforts have been identified and action projects have been developed to address them. The effort is continuous for as one action project is accomplished another opportunity for improvement is addressed. Results of change are evaluated to assure that the action taken had a positive effect.
Quality improvement is a cycle with no beginning and no end. The overriding objective of the quality cycle at GCC is to be an institution of higher learning that strives to successfully meet the changing needs of the community it serves. We need your help in evaluating how successful we are in meeting this objective.
